You are a Badass
I am not a fan of this book. It had a few good points, but I felt that it was set on repeat every 3 chapters. It could have been said and done in 50 pages. I also didn't care for changing words to other words and having to then remember what the new words were talking about.
I suppose I went into it hoping that this had a new, more practical take on helping one feel good about oneself in the face of hardship. But in the end, there was just the same "you get what you put out" nonsense that has kept the self-help industry in its happy place for decades, with a few four-letter words thrown in to trick people into believing that this book is edgy and thought-provoking.
"Putting yourself out there" and "sending out positive energy" is not advice and it doesn't help. This "one size fits all" mentality to positive thinking for a better life isn't enough--I'm just deeply disappointed that I was hoodwinked with this book.
Between the repetitiveness, the author insulting the reader, and the big one, talking more about herself than actually how to help a person be a badass, the whole book was a disappointment.
I don't know, maybe I'm already a badass and that's why I didn't like it, but I really didn't learn anything new from this book.
