Joy to Hope

2017 is gone and while it was a year of firsts, I am looking forward to 2018. I always say don’t walk backwards and don’t do the Cha-Cha in life. I may skip and I may walk fast but I will enjoy this year and all it has to bring.

Last year I picked a word for the year, Joy. I have never had a word for the upcoming year before but thought I might just give it ago. I didn’t know how much that word would impact my life.

This word, Joy came to mean so much to me. Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. I sought out Joy this last year in everything I did.

For 2018 I am choosing the word, Hope. Hope is seeing the light even surrounded by darkness. Hope is not a wish, it is a belief. A belief for me that my health will continue to improve. A belief that my faith will continue to grow. A belief that I am doing what God is calling me to do. For when the world says give up, hope says one more try.

What will your word be for 2018?
